Terms of Newbury
Welcome to Newbury Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website carhirenewbury.co.uk and our vehicle rental services. By using our services
1. Newbury Rental
All vehicle rentals through Newbury are governed by a detailed Rental Agreement provided with your booking confirmation or at vehicle collection. The agreement sets out terms, conditions, insurance details, charges, and your responsibilities for that rental. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
2. Newbury Eligibility
To rent a vehicle from Newbury, you must:
- Be at least 21 years old when renting from Newbury (age limits may differ by vehicle type, and a surcharge may apply for drivers under 25). Hold a full, valid driving licence appropriate to the vehicle class, held for at least the minimum period set out in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid photo identification, proof of address and a payment method that meets Newbury’s requirements at booking and collection.
3. Newbury Booking and Payment
- Bookings may be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our Newbury location. A booking deposit might be required to hold your reservation. Final payment and the security deposit are usually payable at vehicle collection. All prices are shown in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Return
- When collecting a vehicle from Newbury you must inspect it thoroughly and report any existing damage immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by you and a Newbury representative. Return the vehicle in the same condition as when collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage identified on return will be assessed and charged to the hirer.
5. Insurance and Liability — Newbury
- Basic third-party insurance is included with all Newbury rentals. The Rental Agreement sets out full coverage details and the applicable excess amounts. Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your potential financial responsibility. We recommend reviewing these options carefully. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess amount shown in the Rental Agreement.
6. Cancellation and Amendments
Cancellation and amendment policies differ by booking type and notice period. Please consult your Newbury booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for specific terms. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.
7. Newbury Restrictions
You must not use the Newbury vehicle for:
- Any illegal purpose or activity involving Newbury vehicles. Racing, rallying, off-roading, or other hazardous activities. Transporting hazardous or toxic materials. Sub-letting to third parties or permitting unauthorized drivers. Operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Purposes for which the vehicle is not designed...
Violating these restrictions may result in Newbury terminating the rental immediately and imposing additional charges.
8. Limits on Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Newbury will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or business arising from your use of its services. Newbury's total liability for any claim will not exceed the fees you paid for the relevant service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Newbury Jurisdiction
Newbury's Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
10. Changes to Newbury Terms
Newbury may modify these Terms at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting on Newbury's website. Your continued use of Newbury's services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
